Dear Friends & Family,

Phillip had surgery yesterday and everything went well.  In fact the surgeon said it went just like he hoped it would.  He removed 1/3 of the right lung and the attached lymph nodes.  He feels that he got all of it. We won't know until he gets all the reports from the pathologist if he will need chemo.  He is at St. Joseph Hospital here in Lexington. He looked great, was up walking and eating lunch today.  The surgeon agrees that prayers can make things happen.

Thank you for all of yours. Love to all!

Sunday, 2-15-09,

Dear Family & Friends, To some of you I sent an email in Sept. and told you that the doctors had found a spot on Phillip's right lung.  Because he was still recovering from heart surgery it was decided to wait and do repeat Ct scan in January.  That CT scan showed that the area had doubled in size.  A biopsy was done last Monday Feb. 9,2009. The results showed "large cell lung cancer".  At the present time we don't know much else.  He will be seeing the oncology  doctor next Thursday. We hope at that time we will know what we are dealing with.  I will try to keep you informed as to what's going on.  We request your prayer's.

Margaret

Monday, 01-19-09, The Gulf Streamers Club would like for our members to keep Debbie (Mike & Ginny Jock’s daughters) in their thoughts and prayers.  Information is listed below for those of you who would like to visit and sign her guest book:

You may or may not know that our daughter Debbie has been battling Stage IV Ovarian Cancer since July 2008.  She has undergone 6 rounds of chemo to shrink the mass, and  results to the chemo were wonderful with a minimum of side effects.  Today she  had surgery to remove the affected tissue and mass, and check the area for additional cancer tissue; the doctors were pleasantly surprised at what they found.  She had amazing results with the chemo as there was a definite reduction in the cancerous tissue and affected areas.  The surgery lasted 2 hours instead of the predicted 3-4, and she totally by-passed a stop at ICU to her own room. To sum it up, the power of prayer works and is miraculous!

If you would like to follow Debbie's progress she has set up a website at www.caringbridge.org/visit/debbiebrison     Personal Messages and best wishes can also be sent to her through this site, if you wish.

Debbie has been amazing throughout this whole process and has been an inspiration to Mike and I, and everyone around her, with her upbeat attitude and faith.  We ask that you continue to keep her in your prayers as she faces the next phase of recovery.  Thank you all, and God Bless!!

Tuesday, 12-9-08, Welcome and Happy Holidays!

From the

I have had the pleasure and opportunity to be your International Director for the past five years. This is a position with a lot of responsibilities and one that I have never taken lightly or thought of as a chore or a “job”. I owe a lot to the members of the club who have made it so much easier by volunteering. I also have enjoyed the working relationship with our Event Managers, Les & Jean Potteiger, none could be better, and the great friendship and office support of Jennifer Shaw & Leslie Bloom. Our goal, as a team, was to create an
environment for you to enjoy your Gulf Stream RV in fun, fellowship and the great opportunity to visit new places and make new friends or rekindle old friendships.

I want to keep you updated and involved in the club and its activities. Due to cost saving efforts, the Winter Issue of the Main Stream is on hold until further notice. I will continue to post chapter articles and updates on the website. I will also post forms that you need to update information on the website and will add any other areas that you e-mail me your interest of seeing on the website. You will need to check the website often for
updates and spread the word to our members without e-mail so we can also keep them updated. I ask that all chapter contact persons copy pertinent information to their members at a chapter rally to hand out if e-mail is not an option for those members. I intend to post Les’ “New Horizons” articles to the website for your reading pleasure, along with articles that you submit of interesting news. The Traveling Bears will be giving their update to you from the website.

All rallies for 2009 have been cancelled, with the exception of the Alaskan Caravan and the Rose Parade. For those of you who are interested in attending, both fliers and applications are posted on the website. Chapter rallies will be posted on the website, along with the chapter calendar for any members traveling who have interest in attending. Anyone who has sent in a deposit for the 2009 Back Home in Indiana Rally will be mailed a refund check in the next two weeks. The Gulf Streamers Club will not be able to sponsor Chapter dinners for the year 2009, but will revisit the sponsorship in 2010, once the market conditions change. Officers will receive free membership to their chapter for the first year they are an officer beginning in 2009. We hope this encourages more members to take part as an officer.

The Gulf Streamers staff and Gulf Stream Coach managers believe the measures taken to scale back will enable the Gulf Streamers Club to weather the current market conditions. We believe with our members support of our dealers, the club and Gulf Stream Coach, we will all make it through this crisis and enjoy many more rallies together. Gulf Stream is extremely committed to the members of the Gulf Streamers and all owners of Gulf
Stream products. We believe in the strength of our industry and our customers and feel that these economic conditions are temporary and we look forward to getting back to normal soon. The Gulf Streamers office will be closed December 1-February 2, 2009. E-mails and voice mails will be checked periodically during this time. If you have immediate questions or concerns about any Gulf Streamers or Gulf Stream issue, call 1-800-289-8787 ext. 3005.

Sincerely,

Bonnie J. Cooper
International RV Club Director
Gulf Streamers International RV Club
