Cardinal Gulf Streamers Fall Rally Recap!
The Ohio Cardinal Gulfstreamers held their fall rally at Green Acres family campground just south of Newton Falls, Ohio. The rally started off on Thursday evening the 15 th of August with a meet and greet pizza party. There were 13 Cardinal rigs and a visitor from Ontario Canada which made a total of 29 people. Pizza was followed by games then off to bed after a day of traveling and setup.
Friday morning found the campers chowing down on a continental breakfast and then after a brief pause we all lined up and convoyed to Lanterman’s Mill in Mill Creek Metropark, Youngstown, Ohio. The mill, built in 1845, was restored in 1982 to a working status. However, due to low water levels and a leaking dam, we could not see the mill in operation.
After our tour of the mill, we convoyed to Mill Creek Park Fellows Riverside Gardens. Tour guides took our group through the 22 beautiful-themed gardens.
Once again we convoyed to Charlie Staples BBQ and had a delicious luncheon on the raised patio. After lunch many of the campers visited Brier Hill Italian Fest. Later that evening we played Bingo and other games at the campground Pavilion and enjoyed the evening fellowship.
Saturday morning found the campers at our Continental Breakfast (eating is our habit!) We then drove to the Shaker Woods Festival in Columbiana, Ohio. The Festival is in a wooded setting with many hand-made items and people dressed in pioneer attire. After making our way back to camp and resting in the afternoon, we then went to Newton Falls for a buffet dinner.
Sunday morning we had doughnuts and coffee at the Pavilion, and a brief business meeting led by President Kathy Holmes. We would like to thank Gulfstream International and Gulfstream FMCA for the monetary donation to the club for food. Thank you , also, to Frank and Mary Bagnoli and Kathy and Art Holmes for hosting our Rally.
The 2014 Spring and Fall Rally dates and agenda’s will be made at a later date.

North Star Streamers Article
Spring Rally, June, 2013
The campground is a familiar and popular Minnesota rally location for the North Star Streamers RV Club, but chilly temperatures and RAIN (two inches in two days) gave our first mid-week gathering of 2013 a totally different feel. Meals were eaten inside the spacious rally center at the St. Cloud Campground and RV Park, but our outdoor game that includes a traveling trophy was postponed until the Summer rally in July. Campfires and anticipated jokes by club joke teller Veneta Anderson didn’t happen because of the weather and her absence, due to husband Jack’s unexpected hospitalization. The campground’s outdoor pool is a favorite spot, but it remained covered during our stay.
Did these unforeseen elements spoil our June rally? NO WAY! Visiting and catching up topped the list of enjoyable activities, as we seven rally couples hadn’t been together as a group since our September, 2012 rally. Table games such as Golf, Social Security, and a new card game called By George were fun to play, and Jack and Sue Huber prepared a wonderful marinated pork roast with sherry, soy sauce, and apricot jam as the main course for our Tuesday evening potluck! There even was some pork left, and it tasted just as good during our Wednesday potluck supper.
Rally hosts John and Kitty Marszalek planned several memorable outings including supper at Grizzly’s Wood-Fired Grill, lunch at Anton’s (a former 1920’s speakeasy with views of the Sauk River, quirky, one-of-a-kind décor, and fabulous food), and Accentric Home Store and Deli (think food samples) and neighboring Cork and Cask, featuring complimentary wine tastings, both in St. Cloud’s Grande Depot. Jack Jonas provided some humor later when he presented an award to John Marszalek for John’s “Hazardous Slow Driving on the Interstate” during our caravan to Anton’s. And all of us were grateful to learn that Jack Anderson, ourNorth Star Streamers vice president, was discharged from the hospital on day two of our rally! Jack is an award-winning woodcarver and teacher, and he lost no time resuming his woodworking sessions with students.
Our rally officially ended after the Thursday morning potluck, which we believe rivals the food from any restaurant! Chuck and Carrie Mueller will host the July mid-week rally at Trails RV Park in Walker. Let the fun continue!

Dear Gulf Streamers:
Recently, Tony Suddon, Gulf Streamers new International Director posted a letter of introduction on the Gulf Streamers website (http://streamers.gulfstreamcoach.com) and I followed up and posted on our current Gulf Streamers Facebook page.
I just want to communicate to you how much respect I have for Tony and let you know I think he will be a great addition to the Gulf Streamers Club! Tony has the ability to bring in new ideas with a passion and energy for the RV Industry that I think you will find gives new life to the club! As Tony mentioned, many of you have met him at rallies or service visits to our facility. He also composed all the service tidbits that are posted on our website and in Main Stream magazines. Please give him your full support, ideas, recommendations, anything that will help him keep the club active.
As for me, many of you have sent me e-mails and left voicemails asking me “where are you going?” Some of you will remember our optional tour of Depuy in Warsaw, where I referenced our tour as a “trip to the people’s part store.” A little souvenir gift of a keychain hip or knee was handed out at the end of the tour, if I remember correctly. Well, I am now the Medical Affairs Coordinator at DePuy Synthes in Warsaw Indiana. I look forward to this new “adventure” in my life, as all I have known for the last 30 years are RVs!
My years at Gulf Stream will never be forgotten. I appreciate all the Shea family has done for me and my family! I have traveled to so many places, and I am now glad I purchased a snow globe at each place, as it brings back great memories each time I “dust” them. To the Gulf Streamers, you have helped me so much as rallies, I could never have done it without you! I think of many of you as part of my family and hope to never loose touch with you. Gulf Stream employees, past and present, there are so many I will miss. Some of the fun we had at shows, especially Louisville, will never be forgotten. Only the ones who worked with me on the rallies and shows know how much work and preparation goes into making sure our owners and dealers have a great time. It gives you a whole new prospective on what it takes to put on these events! I also want to thank all the Vendors who donated door prizes for our rallies and Gulf Stream dealers who sponsored so many activities at the rallies!
As Tony mentioned, I will be assisting him and Gulf Stream for a few months in order to make sure the transition is smooth and effortless for those who are taking over my duties at Gulf Stream. I did want to mention that we will be taking down the current Gulf Streamers Facebook page in the near future. Tony has plans to create a new page, so make sure you send him an e-mail to invite you to the new page once it is up and running.

June 21, 2013
Hello Gulfstreamers! As you may or may not have learned by now, after many years of dedicated service to this club, Bonnie Cooper has decided to pursue opportunities outside of the Gulf Stream organization. I want to be among the first to honor Bonnie as one of the best Directors of the Gulfstreamer’s International RV Club. She was also a fellow employee that I had the pleasure to work with for many years, so I know firsthand what a wonderful person she is and how well this organization has been run. If you would like to send Bonnie a note, please send it to: ATTN. Bonnie Cooper, C/O Gulfstreamers, PO Box 1005, Nappanee, Indiana, 46550. Bonnie and I will be working together for a smooth transition over the next month or so, so bear with me as I get settled in! I am really looking forward to developing the new “no fee” club membership and new opportunities to expand this wonderful club.
Who am I? Some of you already know me as Gulf Stream’s Director of Consumer Affairs. I’ve spent the last 23 years at Gulf Stream helping customers in a variety of service needs, so it will be a good fit for me to also get involved in the day to day operations of our International owner’s club. I’ve also been to many Gulfstreamer Rallies over the years (I attended my first one 18 years ago as a technician!) and I love the excitement of the event. And just like you, I love camping! I grew up in Northern Michigan camping almost every weekend, and that got me hooked for life. Today I’m doing my best to share that passion with my family. As I sit here and write this, my wife and kids are making sure I didn’t forget anything for our next camping trip in a couple weeks. The words “Go RVing” mean a lot more to me than just a job.
Please feel free to give me a call or send an email to say hi or ask questions at any time. My contact information is the same as it was for Bonnie: 800-289-8787 ext. 3067 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you so much for letting me be a part of this wonderful club!
Anthony “Tony” Suddon
International Director, Gulfstreamers
