Florida Sun Gators November 1, 2008 Greetings to everyone in the Gulf Stream International RV Club Family from the Florida Sun Gators! We hope you had an enjoyable summer, whether it was spent traveling, sightseeing, or visiting with friends and family. Our October Rally was held at Travelers’ Rest Resort in Dade City, with Doug & Jeannie Vollmer, Wally & Janet Runge, and Sherwood & Kathleen Hall serving as hosts for the weekend. We had 18 rigs present, including guests/visitors. It’s always nice to have Don & Suzanne Palczynski and Merle & Rae Schimke, members of the Florida Manatees, visit with us. Thursday night, early arrivals gathered outside for a potluck, bring-your-own-meat-to-grill meal and enjoyed sharing stories of summertime activities/travels. Friday night we ate Sloppy Joes and a myriad of salads, appetizers, and desserts, with games and socializing afterward. Saturday’s activities included swimming, walking, biking, an ice cream social, and a Halloween party in the evening. Jenny Reetz brought in her computer Wii game and we enjoyed bowling, car racing, and interactive carnival games. The Florida Sun Gators now have a Web site, www.floridasungators.com, that is up and running. Visit the site to see pictures and get more information about our chapter. [Thanks to Bill Reetz for implementing the site.] The last issue of the Mainstream Magazine listed many new members of Gulf Stream International, and we would like to invite any of you to visit with us at any of our rallies, which are scheduled nine months out of the year (October through June). He can tell you who to contact for any specific month’s rally. As always, we like to remind you that whenever you see any Florida Sun Gators in your travels, stop by and say hello. We always enjoy meeting new Gulf Stream friends visiting Florida throughout the year. “See you soon.” Wally Gator continues to remind you to drive safely and remember to keep your tails clean.
