We all gathered at South Bay Campground in South Bay FL April 16-20, 2009. The hosts were John/Marilyn Brent #11700 and Ted/Karen Glas #13078.  Twelve rigs arrived for good fun, friendship, and great food.  John/Marilyn Brent #11700 fished for months – what a fish fry!!!

Many thanks to Joyce Suggs #12927 on keeping our roster up to date – these people and their computer knowledge!   We are probably the only chapter who can lay claim to the fact that besides dog walkers, we have a member who walks her pet fish, “Killer."

Mark your calendar with the following dates – September 10-14, 2009.  The Manatee Fall Rally will be at 1000 Palms RV Resort, a fantastic place to hold a rally.  It’s just off I-75 between Wildwood and Inverness FL, exit 329 (6 miles west on SR 44).   The hosts are Merle/Rae Schimke #14751 and Don/Suzanne Palczynski.  Plan on having a great time, lots of good food, and, as always, a few surprises!

Remember to bring your items for the "Fun Bags."  All the bags will be going to the Shriners Children Hospital in Tampa Fl.  Don and I belong to two Florida Gulf Stream chapters and to S.M.A.R.T. (Special Military Active Retired Travelers).

So between the three chapters, we are making 36 "Fun Bags."  We are getting items to keep the kids (boys/girls ages 4 to 10 years) busy while in the hospital. So many times they have only TV to watch. These bags will have books, paper, puzzles, crayons, etc.  The nurses will hand them out as they feel the need.   So many other groups do this only at Easter, Christmas, etc. These can be used at other times; not all kids are in the hospital during the holidays.

The 2010 Buddy Rally is scheduled for January 11-17 at Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa FL. At this rally, a day is also being planned for Alaskan Caravan Reunions.   BACK HOME is coming – June 21-26, 2010.  If you'd like a certain site, let Bonnie know.  Send in your deposit and site #.  (Manatees, we were on Maple.)
