Indiana #1 Gulf Streamers
Fall Rally Sept. 27-30, 2007, Nashville IN
We left for Nashville IN on Wednesday and the closer we got to the south side of Indianapolis, the harder it rained, until it was too hard to see very far ahead. It rained all the way to Nashville, that night, and part of the next day, too.
On Thursday afternoon the rain had ended and everyone begin arriving. By 5:30 P.M. all 14 RVs had arrived. Potluck was at 6:00 with a short meeting afterwards. We then had a campfire where everyone was able to relax.
Friday morning Candy Belanga (9760) & Charlotte Swartz (7062) furnished breakfast. Then we were off to our tour of Bare Feet Sock Factory. We were able to see how they make the socks, including the heel and toe. It was so interesting that I will never look at a sock the same way again. We had free time until the evening meal at Brown Co. Inn, furnished by Gulf Stream. Thanks, Gulf Stream! From there we went to the Little Nashville Opry for a show put on by some local talent. The entertainment was very good.
Saturday breakfast was furnished by Earl & Norma Nichols (4291). Today was the day to shop in all the stores in town. Those that wanted to met for lunch at the Artist Colony Inn, where we all had a good lunch. At 5 P.M. we had dinner cooked by Vice Presidents Buster & Charlotte Swartz. Following dinner we saw the Coachlite Musical Theater (America the Music). Shelly Bauer (4052), whose birthday it was today, got to go up on the stage to help in the entertainment. The show was very patriotic and we enjoyed it. Thereafter, we came back to the campfire and relaxed.
Sunday breakfast was made by the men of the club, with the women being able to enjoy sleeping in. Ken Cauvet (6800), Ken Deddens (14123) & Mike Doty (7969) made the breakfast. Prizes were given out for the Scavenger Hunt we had going on during the rally. It had to do with all of the stores in town. The scavenger hunt was won by Dave Kohlmeier(4052), with the other prizes being won by Harold Rector (11844), Candy Belanga, Mary Lou Vlinn, a guest & Buster Swartz. We then sang the closing song. Everyone loaded up and headed for their next destination. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone next spring in Rockville, IN. We want to thank Hart City for the prizes for this rally and for being our sponsors.
