Hope this fines veryone well.  Yesterday, we got 6 inches of snow and woke up this morning to 4 degrees temperature.  Hope you snow birds are appreciating your warm weather.

Our final KyOhWeVa rally of 2009 was light in attendance, but full of good times.  The Gilkey’s did a wonderful job planning a great rally.  We’d like to thank them for hosting and providing the extra-ordinary home-made apple dumplings.  Man, what a treat!!!  The Point Pleasant, WV area held interesting surprises around every corner.  We were even privileged to speak with the artist painting the extensive murals stretching along the floodwall.

The 2010 KyOhWeVa officers are as follows:  President-Virginia Raikes, Vice-President-Ralph Gordon, Secretary-Cindy Lewis, Treasurer-Larry Parker and Wagonmaster-Kevin Lewis.

Our 2010 rally schedule is as follows:April 29 - May 2 at Beech Fork State Park near Huntington, WV

(Host:  Kevin & Cindy Lewis)

August 12 - 15 at Evergreen Lake near Bethlehem, PA

(Host:  Mike & Marianne Meixell)

September 17 - 20 at Cummins Ferry Resort in Harrodsburg, KYReservation Information:

Beech Fork, WV – please contact Cindy Lewis (email:  magnoliaplace@juno.com) for reservations.   She will be coordinating the group’s reservations with park office because they do not take reservation from the public until after Memorial Day.  The Senior Citizen Rate is $22.50 and non-Senior rate is $25.00.  Huntington is a pretty college town on the Ohio River and the home of Marshall University (We Are Marshall).  Other attractions include Blenko Glass Factory, Huntington Museum of Art and Heritage Farm Museum and Village.  Beech Fork is the largest State Park in WV and sits on a Corps of Engineers lake.  There are pontoons for rent if anyone is interested in going out on the lake.

Bethlehem, PA – Make your own reservations by May 1st by calling the Evergreen Lake campground (phone 610-837-6401).  Please indicate you are with the Gulf Stream group.  The camping rate is $34 for water & electric.  Mike and Marianne are putting together a rally filled with interesting sites and events, such as the Martin Guitar Factory Tour, College Hill Moravian Church, Canal Boat Ride and Musikfest.  Please contact the Meixell’s (email:  mmmeixell@enter.net) to let them know you plan to attend so they may have a good idea of how many to plan for.

Harrodsburg, KY – Cummins Ferry Resort has requested reservations be coordinated by one person and reservation made together by July 1st.  The rate for full-hookups is $30.  You will need a water regulator.  More rally details will follow later.  Margaret Ditchen has scoped out the area and located tons of interesting sites such as Shakertown, Dixie Bell Riverboat, Beaumont Inn, Old Fort Harrod State Park, Danville Constitution Square, Chateau de Vieux Cordeau Winery, just to name a few.

Looks like we have some great times in store for our chapter.  Just can hardly wait to be together again.   Please contact the rally host or President, Virginia Raikes (email:  darlee2@juno.com) with questions about our rallies or our chapter.

Everyone stay safe.  Please continue to keep those with health issues in your thoughts and prayers.  Hope to see everyone in the Spring.

Cindy Lewis, Secretary
