Mid-Atlantic Streamers

Our first 2008 Rally was held at Homestead Camping Resort, Harbeson, Delaware, May 16 - 18. Sixteen members attended and enjoyed the variety of activities available. Some members went down to the boardwalk; others visited a local winery or shopped at the local outlets. We had a potluck dinner on Friday night with a great variety of good food. Dinner on Saturday night was at a local Applebee’s where we all ate together and enjoyed the food and fellowship. Co-hosts were Myrna and Dino Vidos and Connie and Randy Camp.

Sixteen members met for a pre-rally at Laurel Highlands Campground at Donegal, Pennsylvania, June 20 - 22. Friday night we ate at Brady’s Restaurant and watched people feeding the ducks on the pond. The café at the campground served us a bountiful breakfast on Saturday and then the group visited a farmers market or took in the local historic sites. We dined at the Oakhurst Tea Room on Saturday night known for their famous smorgasbord and dessert table. Jack and Sadie Frowen and Dean and Nancy Mulder served as co-hosts.

Seven rigs formed up in a caravan at 7 a.m. on Sunday to go on to the Back Home in Indiana Rally in Goshen, Indiana, with Jay Shuman as Wagonmaster.

We had a lively group with thirteen rigs and thirty people attending the Back Home in Indiana Rally. We were proud of our members who won prizes for their Wizard of Oz costumes. Chuck Shackelford was the cowardly Lion with his wife, Mary, was Glenda, the good witch. Peggy Sack was the Scarecrow who shed some of her straw stuffing along the way. Of course the Potteiger/Durham families were great participants. The entire costume event was captured by digital camera by our photographer extraordinaire, Bob Coyner.

We will meet up again September 12 - 14 at Candy Hill Campground, Winchester, Virginia. Jay and Barb Shuman and Charles and Pat Schultz will be co-hosts.

Our October 10 - 12 Rally will be in Bedfast, Pennsylvania, for their great fall festival. Bob and Lorraine Coyner and Bob Swarrow and Betty Dourlam are our co-hosts and have planned a great weekend.
